Empowering your children & teenagers to overcome challenges such as;

School Anxiety/School Phobia

School phobia, or school refusal, can present significant challenges for both students and their families.

This condition manifests as a persistent fear or anxiety about attending school, often resulting in missed classes and falling behind academically. It is vital to address this problem because education plays a crucial role in a child’s development and future opportunities.

Generalised Anxiety

Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in children poses significant challenges to their overall well-being. This condition is characterised by excessive worry and fears about everyday situations, making it hard for them to relax and enjoy their childhood.

It is crucial to resolve GAD in children because it can greatly impact their mental health, academic performance, and social development.

By addressing their anxiety, we can help children regain a sense of calm, improve their self-esteem, and provide them with the tools to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. This sets them on a path towards a healthier and happier future.

Separation Anxiety

Separation anxiety  is characterised by feelings of distress, fear, and anxiety when they are separated from their parents or primary caregivers. Children with separation anxiety may experience physical symptoms, such as headaches, stomachaches, and nausea, as well as emotional symptoms, such as mood swings, irritability, and crying.

There are various reasons why children develop separation anxiety, including a traumatic event, a change in their environment, or a sudden separation from their parents.

If left untreated, separation anxiety can have a negative impact on a child’s social and emotional development. Therefore, it is important to seek professional help if the child’s symptoms persist or worsen over time. I can offer support and treatment for  children with separation anxiety to help them to manage their symptoms and thrive in their daily lives.

Low Self Esteem

Low self-esteem can be a common issue among children and teenagers. It can stem from various factors, such as academic pressure, social challenges, and family situations. When children and teenagers have low self-esteem, they may struggle with their confidence, feel anxious, and may have difficulty making friends.

Overall, low self-esteem can be a challenging issue for children and teenagers to face. However, with support I offer,  they can develop a positive self-image and feel more confident in themselves and their abilities.

Body Image Anxiety

Body image anxiety is the feeling of being self-conscious about one’s appearance, particularly their weight, shape, or size. This can be caused by a range of factors, such as societal pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards, bullying, and social media.

Teenagers who experience body image anxiety may develop unhealthy habits such as extreme dieting, over-exercising, or even engaging in harmful behaviours such as self-harm. It is important for parents and caregivers to recognise the signs of body image anxiety.

I will provide a safe space where your child or teen can feel supported. Through solution focused strategies and techniques I use, this will build confidence,  promote self-love and acceptance, and  they can learn to appreciate their themselves.

Exam Stress

Stress can be positive and can motivate young people to strive to do well.
However, exam stress can begin to impact upon a young person’s mental health. It might affect young people in the following ways:

  • Reluctance to go to school
  • Being overly self-critical
  • Putting schoolwork off
  • Mood changes which could include being withdrawn, tearfulness or anger

If a young person is experiencing any of the following it would be beneficial to learn some NLP techniques and resources to aid any negative emotions attached to exam stress.

This can then help with motivation and allowing that young person to succeed.

I offer a tailored approach for exam stress which combines interventions such as NLP, TFT, Positive Psychology, CBT and Hypnotherapy.

Low Moods

Do you experience any of the following:

  • Persistent sadness
  • Lack of interest in activities which you usually enjoy
  • Decreased energy
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Changes in appetite
  • Feeling frustrated or irritable

Someone experiencing depression might have some of these symptoms above at different intensities. Some people might be able to continue everyday life, but it can be extremely debilitating impacting on every aspect of someone’s life from work to home life.

My integrative solution focused approach combining NLP, TFT and Hypnotherapy can help you with low moods and depression. Changing your mindset, negative beliefs and feelings about yourself, allowing you to unlock your potential and live a brighter happier future as a result.
